We would like to congratulate Brett Forman and Corey Graham. They both medaled at the 2021 State Summer Games. As part of the DMH IL Program, we assisted them in participating in the Special Olympics. We are so proud of their accomplishments!

COVID-19 & Disability Survey

The American Association on Health and Disability is conducting an online survey to better understand the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on people with disabilities with support from the Bristol-Meyers Squib Foundation. The average completion time is less than four minutes. Alternate formats such as large print, Braille, or electronic versions of the survey are available upon request to [email protected].

Survey: Measuring Quality of Life in People with Disabilities: Implications for Mental Health Clinicians

The University of Northern Colorado is seeking your help to improve the quality of mental health care available for individuals with disabilities. In this survey you will be asked questions about quality of life, disability identity, and current relationships in order to better inform clinical practices in mental health. There are no right or wrong answers in this survey. The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes of your time. Please consider offering your experience to help improve mental health care for people with disabilities.

 

Ride Share Accessibility Survey

Independent Living Resource Center San Francisco is collecting information about the experiences of people with disabilities using Uber, Lyft, and other ride share services. The purpose of this data collection is to make ride share services more accessible for all. 

 

Survey of User Needs for Wireless Technologies

The purpose of this survey is to learn how people with disabilities of all ages use wireless technology. The survey includes questions about cell phones, tablet computers, and newer technologies like smart watches and smart home devices.
 

Assistance Animal Survey

The Southwest ADA Center is carrying out research into the use of service animals and other assistance animals by people with disabilities in public settings.

CALL TO ACTION - Encourage Governor Greitens to Sign HCB3

ACTION NEEDED!


In the final moments of the Legislative Session las week, the senate version of HCB3 passed. This bill includes the funding mechanism to bring points back to 21 versus 24 and provider rates to a 1.5% cut versus a 3% cut.   If the Senior Services Protection Fund is not formed (Governor does not sign HCB3) then points will revert back to 24 and proivider rates will be a 3% cut.
 
Please contact the Governor's office as soon as possible and ask that he support Missouri's elderly and disabled by signing HCB3.

Get Ready!  Get Set!  Go! 

Mark your calendars and join us for our 2nd Annual Buckles, Barrels & BBQ Fundraiser.  This is a 5D open barrel race, 1/2 second split with 80% payout and $2,000 added.  We've also added age incentive side pots this year!  Exhibitions start at 10 am, Pee Wee at 12:30 pm with open barrels to follow.

Sponsorships, Vendor booths and rider pre-entry forms are posted on our Facebook Event page and will be posted on our website soon.  We have also designed BBB event t-shirts for purchase.  See our Donate section to Add-On yours today! 

All proceeds help people with disabilities live independently in the comfort of their own homes.  Great event, great fun and all for a great cause!
